Wooden Beauty
Now this is indeed wicked and cool for me. Made me think of doing the same thing with the old laptops at home or make a bamboo casing for an old computer. Check out this site for more information about this wooden beauty. Oh, and by the way, it is powered by Gentoo GNU/Linux.

Fedora Core 6 on ASUS A6B00R Update
Wheeew... a very long title. With minimal contents. Anyway, sound is already working on my FC6 installation. After tweaking the some settings using alsamixer, lo and behold! Sound is working! My concerns right now are the wireless connectivity and the RICOH card reader. I will post some updates regarding the aforementioned issues.

Search Engines
This may not be a news, but I stumbled upon two relatively new search sites; SearchMash and Clusty.
SearchMash is owned by Google. It is aimed to "test innovative user interfaces." New algorithm and other functions are tested in SearchMash. In effect, this will be the new Google, as the innovations here will be rolled out in Google. The interface looks "modern" compared to Google.
The side panels present previews of Images, Blogs, Videos and Wikipedia search results. Users can also rate if the results were accurate or helpful.
Clusty is a metasearch engine from Vivismo. You may check out basic information from this Wikipedia Article or try doing some search at their site.
Happy searching!
