Working in Computer Factories May Increase Cancer Risk

Building computers may bestow an increased risk of several kinds of cancer, according to an analysis of a large mortality database available. Brain, kidney and breast cancer and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma were more common causes of death for IBM employees than the rest of the population...

Suzerainty

Suzerainty (soĆ³-zer-en-tee, -ze-rayn'-tee) is a situation in which a region or people is a tributary to a more powerful entity which allows the tributary some limited domestic autonomy but controls its foreign affairs.

A new word a day, keeps my head OK. Tsk! Bad rhyming eh? Well, maybe I'll do better next time. :)

Pirates, Batman, Gun and Rogue

Pirates, there are many pirates. Software, music, literary pirates. Almost everything can be pirated. I had some discussions regarding this issue. One of the reasons why piracy is rampant: Economics. Most the people who buy/download pirated things said that it's about the price.

The original CDs/DVDs are very expensive.

Why do I have to buy the original if I can download it?

These are some of their reasons. Indeed, the price of the original discs are very costly especially for rank and file employees like me. The cost of the albums by foreign artists is between 400 to 500 pesos. And the DVDs, from 600 to 900 pesos. Some people might snap, then why do you want to buy that discs/movies if you can't afford it? Uhhmm, because television sucks? Because even rank and file people can 'digest' it? I think the industry (music/film) are already working out to lower the costs. I saw some original (foreign) albums with only the discs (sans the booklets). those are priced at around 250 pesos. Not bad at all. But will they lower it? Maybe.

I already finished reading the Batman titles I mentioned before. Very nice read. The TPBs are worth collecting. By the way, here is a picture of my TM Samurai Edge. Finally, here is a preview of a new SUV from Nissan.

Back To The Meaning....

I have been very busy with my family, job and hobbies. So what is the latest? I just finished reading DC's Identity Crisis. It is a seven-issue comic book limited series. I got the latest edition (Trade paper back) of the said title. An excellent read indeed. For spoilers, you may check out the Wikipedia entry. I'm also planning to procure the other crisis titles like Crisis on Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis. Next read will be Batman: Year One, Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: Dark Victory.

On the wishlist at my other blog, I wanted a TM M9 Tactical Master. Instead, I got the TM Samurai Edge custom. And since I'm reading reviews about AEGs, I'm eyeing for an ICS C-15 Fixed Stock.

Next time I'll post a short review about my TM Samurai Edge and some Gundam blues.
